Teen becomes leader, despite hearing loss
Jessica Gerges was diagnosed with severe hearing loss when she was a baby. She spoke her first words at the age of 3 years after being fitted with hearing aids, and at a very young age, she trained herself to use her limited hearing abilities as much as she could and to read people's lips. Learn policing - from investigations to traffic
The Danville Police Department will be offering a one-day Citizens Police Academy on March 23. This Citizen's Police Academy is an all-day program where participants will learn about the intricacies of the Police Department, including patrol, investigations, traffic, the K-9 unit and school resources. Career Fair focuses on health and bioscience
An impressive group of local education, health care businesses, and health care organizations came together last Thursday to present a conference at the San Ramon Marriott for more than 450 Contra Costa County high school students. Registration opens for TV TV camp
If your son or daughter is considering a career in television or video production, consider signing them up for the Tri-Valley TV Camp. This unique TV Camp, for students in grades six through 11th, is offered by Tri-Valley Community Television. Mayor circulates petition to stop state raids on town coffers
Mayor Mike Doyle is on a mission. He, along with other local officials throughout California, is circulating petitions to get an initiative on the November ballot to prohibit the state from taking local funds. Doyle passed out the petitions at his monthly Mayor's Morning today. (Sunday, 12:08 PM)
San Ramon grad Matt Chance dies in snowboarding accident
Matthew Chance, 27, died Feb. 28 doing what he loved to do most - snowboarding. He was living in Bern, Switzerland, where he worked as a certified public accountant with Ernst & Young, and was snowboarding in fresh powder at a Swiss ski resort when the accident occurred. (Sunday, 12:08 PM)
